Mom wanted to call one of her relatives, so, I dialed the number for her, but she couldn't make any sense, so, I talked to them instead.  Mentally, she is bad today.  Maybe the call will help to snap her back into reality by tomorrow.  She's into chewing plates, drinking sugar, invisibly sewing her bathrobe, undressing, talking to herself, tying knots in her nightgown, tearing garbage bags, chewing on her nightgown, putting furniture cushions on the floor, using tables for chairs and wandering idly around.  I imagine I'll be awakened several times tonight by a wandering naked lady.

I'm seeing more of President Reagon on TV.  He is asking the Americaan public, "Are you worse off than you were four years ago"?  Unequivocally, yes!  I wonder what he colors his hair with.  His blusher looks very good on him too.  With eighty-four wars going on in the world currently, I can't see that there have been any diplomatic achievements under his Presidencccy.  Why is the army being tto run United States railroads?  What would have to happen to stop train engineers from driving the trains?  Would all the unemployed people hijack the trains to march on Washington?  I've had an afterthought on his proposed space station, since an underground city has already been built in case of nuclear warm, maybe our President would like to travel in the middle of it too.  That way he could claim he was 'on top of everything'.  He said we have a sparkling economy, and we have a society bursting with opportunities, but where are they.  More businesses failed last year than any year since the 1932 depression.  How can businesses expand, when there isn't enough net profit to even stay in business.

Everyone wants to know why there isn't more voter participation.  I feel impotent to change the current officials, because of the powerful lobbyists and the rich, who can afford the lobbyists.

I once worked for a medical specialist, who paid $75.00 a month into a fund with other medical specialists to hire a lobbyist.  Yet $80.00 a month is supposed to feed me for a month, according to the ADC office.  Personally, I think it would take a genius to figure out the voting machines and many older and less educated people would only try once.  My Mom could vote with absentee voting and absentee registration, but there isn't any way she could understand the voting machines.  Another thing that turns people off is having to declare a particular party affiliation.  Many feel that the government knows too much about them already.  Since people are being forced to leave their homes, how do they vote with no permanent residence?  Where do the people , who have been forced to live in the street or their car vote?  Even without the thirty day residency requirement, how do the destitute get to the polls to vote?  They can't afford a taxi, and it's much too far for many of them to walk.  Until the laws are changed, at least in this area, people won't vote.  One day registration, with no residency requirement is essential to reach the former middle class, and new and old poor.
