American doctors have studied Iranian patients, and say that Iraq is using nerve gas in the war with Iran. Iraq's officials feel that any means is justifiable to quickly bring an end to the war. The officials have compared the use of nerve gas to the dropping of the Atomic Bomb by the United States on Japan to end the war. It doesn't seem to me that one wrong justifies another, although I doubt that we will ever admit to maybe being wrong. We condemn other countries for the same things we have done. Countries that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
I went for a temporary job interview today, but I won't know until sometime next week whether I got the job or not.
I saw a neighbor at a local shopping center. He said that he was going to buy some beer, because after two years of unemployment, there wasn't very much else to do besides get drunk.
Cilco is gong to start shutting off gas and electric service tomorrow. My child told me that the Catholic Social Service is helping them by paying $80.00 and the Township Supervisor will pay $13.00 toward their $160.00 bill. My bill is $511.00, plus this month's bill. I call the Catholic Social Service and was told they weren't paying anything. I called the township Supervisor, but he said that I make over the $144.00 allowable income per month (my unemployment is $68.00 a week, a whopping $292.40 a month) and don't qualify for anything from that agency. I don't want agencies paying my way; I just want a job so I can pay my own way. I sent my child$20.00, whether I had it or not, because she was out of toilet paper, and I wanted them to be able to wax their kitchen floor. I consider floor wax a necessity, not a luxury. Their family would be better off if the spouse was fired and didn't work. They wouldn't have any expenses for driving back and forth to work, nor would they have to pay for meals at work. Maybe they would receive a medical and dental card, and all of them would be able to get proper medical and dental attention. They wouldn't have any more to eat, but they wouldn't have any less. If they could pick up some cash work on the side, they would be much better off than they are now.
I got Mom's insurance money and deposited it, but it takes until April 10th to clear the check. I haven't received Love's insurance, because of a hold-up on the death certificate. Why is all government sooooo slow?
