I wonder what Eva Braun saw in Hitler? She must have seen something in him to love, but it's difficult for me to imagine what. From what I know about that time in Germany, the jobs were being taken by non-German's, who worked for lower wages. Hitler promised to do something about it, and that's how he came to power. I can almost picture a Commander-in-Chief telling his subordinates to get rid of the problem, and "I don't care how, just do it". It's anybody's guess if he realized at the beginning what his directive would eventually lead to. Maybe he thought that his police force/army/the Gestapo, would just threaten or beat up some of the non-Germans, or perhaps just kill a few, that would go mainly unnoticed, to warn the other non-Germans to leave Germany and let the German people have their jobs back. It would be easy to give a Hitler-type person power in an economic depression. Who can you really blame though? It seems the companies and businesses in German gave the non-Germans jobs, and at a lower wage than their own German people were willing to work for.
