Alma was great again today, although, of cource, she's still a mess!

Her daughter and son-in-law finished the inside of the back porch at Alma's house. They put up a new ceiling, painted the walls, tiled the floor, put up curtains and wall decorations, spray painted a freezer, painted a metal storage cupboard and metal kitchen cart. It was something Alma wanted done before she got sick.

On my way home from Alma's, my driver's side front tire and rim came off the car. I had to have it towed to a garage for $18.50. The attendant gave me a brand-new, factory-defective tire, took the old tire off the rim, put the defective tire on, and mounted it on the car for nothing. I must get another lug nut and a cap for the brake drum from a junk yard when I get paid. I can't open the driver's side door now, but no one was hurt and there wasn't any serious damage done. I'll get used to getting in on the passenger side. I'll definitely put de-icer in my big purse this winter, just in case the only car door, that I'll be able to open, freezes shut and won't open. That's happened before to the driver's side door, but the passenger door always opened, and now I don't have the option of just hoping the passenger side door opens all winter. I must be prepared in case it doesn't.
